Larry Sullivan, one
of three founding principals of Careba Power Engineers, will be presenting
a technical paper at the 2005 Power-Gen International Conference. Larry
will be presenting the paper he coauthored with Mike Hitchko of Public
Service of New Hampshire and Bill Bousquet of GenPower entitled "Repowering
with a Dual Fuel (Wood/Coal) CFB at Schiller Station" The conference
is being held in Las Vegas, Nevada from December 6 to December 8. Careba
Power Engineers is the owner's engineer for the project, and Larry's paper
will discuss design challenges and the current status of the construction
of the project. September 1, 2005:
Jim Harrington has joined Careba Power Engineers as a Senior Consulting Electrical Engineer specializing in high voltage transmission lines, underground cables and substations. Careba continues to grow, and we have received new assignments in all our key focus areas: substations, power plants, and industrial facilities. Jim has over 30 years of experience
in the electrical utility and consulting/engineering fields on projects
ranging from distribution voltage up to 500 kV. In addition to engineering
and design, Jim has developed and implemented procedures and policies
that have increased productivity, enhanced safety, and improved efficiency
and reliability, and he has developed material and construction standards
for electrical distribution lines for both domestic and foreign utilities.
Jim holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University,
and he has been a member of IEEE since 1966. August 8, 2005: Careba Power Engineers has moved! We have relocated to new office space, located at 400 Blue Hill Drive, Suite 190, Westwood, MA. We have many new projects and new clients, spanning the power, substation, and industrial sectors, and are excited to continue our steady growth while striving to offer you the highest quality engineering services possible.
July 16, 2005: Careba is on the Move! The steady growth of Careba Power Engineers continues, and if you have been to our office recently, you know we are busting at the seams. We will be relocating to new office space in mid August. Our new office will be located in Westwood, MA right off of University Avenue. The new office will give us almost 50% more floor space to accommodate our growth, and we have room for expansion. Please check back with this site in a few weeks for our new address.
June 6, 2005: Careba Power Engineers Expands I&C Staff Ken Hatchette has joined Careba Power Engineers as a Senior Instrument and Controls Engineer. Careba continues to grow, and we have received new assignments in all our key focus areas: power, industrial, and substation projects. Ken has 34 years of professional experience providing automation, instrument, control, and PCS/SCADA systems for power, biotechnology, manufacturing, and industrial facilities. Ken has extensive experience on all types of I&C systems including Pneumatic, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), and Distributed Control System (DCS) technologies. He has a BS in electrical engineering from Roger Williams College and is a Senior Member of the Instrument Society of America (ISA).
October 21, 2004: Careba Announces Business Development Changes In order to stay in tune with the ever-evolving energy market, Careba Power recognizes the need to follow the evolution to meet the needs of present and future clients. With a demand for large power plants to be built and upgraded and a quickly growing demand for distributed energy and combined heat and power, Careba has made some changes within the organization: Joe Cleary joined Careba in September as Director of Business Development. Joe worked with Careba’s Principals at Parsons Main where he was part of the business development team for power and T&D projects. Subsequent to Parsons Main, Joe worked for AES for several years. Joe’s career includes project engineering, project management, construction management, project development, asset acquisitions, and business development. He has a BS in mechanical engineering from Cornell University and an MS in mechanical engineering from University of California at Berkeley, and he is a licensed Professional Engineer. |
